"Herencia de 10.000 años"
Puno tiene el privilegio de poseer, en la codillera de Carabaya, la
galería de arte rupestre más impresionante del Perú.
Y no sólo tenemos este importante sitio, los estudiosos registran
más de 80 sitios en el departamento, y seguramente con más
esfuerzo de investigación se irán descubriendo más.
Eso demuestra p.e., que experiencias y conocimientos de los puneños
de hoy, se han venido acumulando desde hace más de 10.000 años.
Se hace urgente entonces reflexionar sobre la protección y conservación
de estas valiosas manifestaciones culturales, que pese a ser relativamente
conocidas, son víctimas del deterioro, el maltrato y descuido,
tanto de la población como de las autoridades competentes, principalmente
debido al desconocimiento de su importancia para reconstruir la historia
de Puno.
La Casa del Corregidor, con la valiosa colaboración de Alfredo
Quispe Tutacano, Américo Martínez, Gustavo Ramírez,
Rubén Colquehuanca, así como el soporte artístico
de Héctor Cuentas y Foto A, se complacen en presentar esta muestra
fotográfica con la "Herencia de 10.000 años"
por la que tendríamos que sentirnos inmensamente orgullosos.

"10.000 years old inheritance"
Puno has the privilege of possessing, in the codillera of Carabaya,
the most impressive gallery of cave paintings in the Peru. Not only
there is this important site, specialists register more than 80 sites
in the department of Puno, and with some more investigation there will
be more sites to be discovered. This fact gives evidence that today's
experiences and knowledge of the Puno people, are the result of a accumulation
of than 10.000 years!. So it is urgent to think about the protection
and conservation of these invaluable cultural manifestations that in
spite of being relatively wellknown, are victim of deterioration, damage
and negligence, as well from of the population as from the competent
authorities, mainly due to the ignorance of their importance in helping
to reconstruct the history of Puno.
